It’s that time of the year again, Tax Freedom Day!!!
One of the things I’ve kept track of over the years is just how much tax we all pay. And indeed, how long this takes us all to pay off.
It’s been eye-opening for me what the figures can tell us.
I call it my Tax Freedom Day (TFD).
I’ve kept detailed Australian figures for years now but noticed that the timing and numbers are quite similar for most other ‘western’ nations where reasonably accurate taxation and GDP figures can be obtained.
The latest TFD report has been posted to the PSE site as an e-book which you can download Completely Free
Notice how the TFD day extends (blows out) as the real estate cycle gets into full swing (The recent post World War II cycles at least). TFD day then recedes as each real estate cycle extreme takes place and we enter recessionary conditions.
Should this trend continues, and if you still have another 30 years of working in front of you, then for no less than 11 of those 30 years will see you devote solely to paying your government taxes.
Doesn’t it make much more sense to do the reverse: have the system work for you?
We teach you how to do that here.
